Suppressor questions
What changed for suppressors in 2026?
The federal tax on a suppressor went to $0 on January 1, 2026. Since October 2026, ATF guidance lets a suppressor transfer on a Form 4473 with a background check in states that allow it. ATF has said that guidance can change.
How long does it take?
Expect 10 to 15 business days to ship to your dealer, which includes Form 3 approvals. In some cases, it may ship faster. Your dealer's part depends on how you transfer it.
What is an NFA trust?
A trust is a legal document that can own a suppressor in your place, so every trustee may possess and use it. It applies when you register on ATF Form 4. Set it up before you order.
Can you ship a suppressor to my house?
No. A suppressor ships to a licensed dealer that transfers suppressors. You choose the dealer at checkout.
General information, not legal advice.
Start with your bore: a rifle suppressor for 5.56, .30 caliber or magnum rifles, a pistol suppressor for 9mm or .45, a rimfire suppressor for .22 LR, or a shotgun suppressor. A multi-caliber suppressor runs several bores on one can. Then match the mount (direct thread, QD or HUB) and the thread pitch to your barrel.
Mounts, pistons, end caps and covers are in suppressor accessories.
